Desborough Players present charity performance

Hansel and Gretel is a classic tale that tells the plight of a young brother and sister abandoned in a forest by their wicked stepmother. It is one of the many stories written by the brothers Grimm which has been enjoyed by children across the world. This entertaining magical musical evening of fun, laughter and first class entertainment will be staged by the Award winning Desborough Players to raise funds for The Stephanie Marks Appeal. This charity performance will take place at The Playhouse Theatre, Hepworth Way, Walton on Thames on Thursday, 5th January at 7.30 p.m. This pantomime will be a treat for the entire family as The Desborough Players NEVER disappoint - oh no they don't!!!!!

The amount of people faced with diabetes is growing and by 2010, Ashford & St Peter's NHS Trust will be looking to treat well over 20,000 with the condition. To meet this growing demand not only by way of treatment, but also by providing educational and research facilities, The Stephanie Marks Appeal was launched in June 2003. It aims to significantly raise awareness of the condition and provide a new dedicated diabetes centre on the St Peter's site that will serve the entire catchment area of Ashford and St. Peter's Hospitals NHS Trust.

Established in 1946 The Desborough Players put on one Pantomime, one Spring Play and enter festivals in Walton and Woking each year. They have won numerous awards at the festivals for best Play, best Actor, best Actress and best Supporting Player together with several technical awards. The Pantomime is always geared towards children; it is real traditional entertainment that can be enjoyed by all ages.
