Run for Diabetes - British 10k, London – Sunday 2nd July 2006
The annual British 10k is staged in London. The race route passes many of London's most famous historic landmarks, and is run on some of the most famous street names in the world - starting on Piccadilly outside the legendary Hard Rock Cafe at Hyde Park Corner and finishing on Whitehall.
Last year 20,000 runners helped their chosen charity through taking part and raising sponsorship. For the past couple of years, The Stephanie Marks Diabetes Appeal has raised over £5,500 and has six places remaining for this year’s run.
Supported by Ian Botham OBE, The Stephanie Marks Diabetes Appeal is raising funds to provide a specialist diabetes service throughout North Surrey. A specialist clinic will be built within the grounds of St Peter’s Hospital housing education, treatment and research facilities, and be closely linked with GP’s, Diabetes Leads and Specialist Nurses throughout the community.
If you are keen to run, register today by calling The Stephanie Marks Fundraising Team on 01932 722330. A £20 registration fee applies. The fundraising team will help advise how you can now raise sponsorship funds for the charity online via justgiving, who will also donate an additional 28p from the tax man for every £1 you raise.
