The goal of building and equipping a dedicated diabetes resource centre in the grounds of St. Peter's hospital moved another step forward this week with the Stephanie Marks Diabetes Appeal receiving a £25,000 donation from Novo Nordisk, the leading diabetes care company.
Chris Field, Regional Sales Manager and Lisa Van Dooren Executive Diabetes Care Specialist from Novo Nordisk took great pleasure in presenting their £25,000 cheque to Appeal Chairman, Clive Thompson CBE at St. Peter's on Wednesday, 22 March.
"Novo Nordisk's vision is to defeat diabetes through the development of more effective methods of diabetes prevention, detection and treatment," said Chris Field. "We actively promote collaboration amongst all areas of the healthcare system to achieve these common goals. Our objectives are aligned with the Stephanie Marks Appeal, dedicated to improving the quality of diabetes care throughout North Surrey and outer-London and we are committed to supporting initiatives that deliver positive outcomes for people with diabetes."
Clive Thompson CBE thanked the company by saying, "we are delighted to be working in partnership with Novo Nordisk, a world leader in diabetes care. Our ongoing alliance will help bring our plans for a new state-of-the-art diabetes resource centre to be built within the grounds of St Peter's Hospital, Chertsey nearer fruition. This centre will be linked by a sophisticated IT system to GP clinics and community hospitals located throughout the community, giving patients faster access to a broader level of care closer to home.
