A unique opportunity to bid for a round of golf for two people in Jersey with this year's Ryder Cup Captain Woosie and cricketing legend Beefy Botham

Online auction between Friday, 30th June - Sunday, 9th July (inclusive)

This is a chance of a lifetime!!!! This year's Ryder Cup Captain, Ian Woosnam together with cricketing legend Ian Botham, invite two people to join them for a 4-ball round of golf at the prestigious Royal Jersey Golf Club on Wednesday, 2nd August, 2006. This fabulous opportunity is being auctioned by The Stephanie Marks Diabetes Appeal, based in Surrey/Middlesex to which Ian Botham OBE is Patron. The Appeal will help to provide a unique model of diabetes care by creating a specialist diabetes centre, linked via technology to community hospitals and GP surgeries throughout North Surrey and Outer London. The new centre will house treatment, education and research facilities, located within the grounds of St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey, Surrey. Diabetes is a cause close to both Ian's hearts as each of their respective daughters has lived with diabetes for many years.

Ian Botham OBE, Patron of the Appeal says, "Diabetes is of growing concern. It is a complex condition that affects all ages. We have had first hand experience of diabetes as my daughter Becky has lived with the condition since the age of 9. I am delighted that money raised from this auction will take the Stephanie Marks Diabetes Appeal one step closer to building and equipping a dedicated diabetes resource centre in Surrey."

Ian Woosnam
