17/08/06Mobility Scooter up for grabs in support of diabetes Main MenuDownload

The super-highway continues to raise funds in support of The Stephanie Marks Diabetes Appeal. The online ‘ebay for charity’ service which allows people buying and selling goods online to donate a percentage of the sale to charity. With amazing items and experiences to be found, from playing golf in Jersey with Ryder Cup Captain Ian Woosnam, to enjoying your first flight lessons with the BA flying club, almost £4,000 has already been raised since the Appeal logged a couple of months ago.

Now giving one lucky bidder the chance to maintain or regain their independence, simply click here and link through to ebay to place your bid for a fabulous mobility scooter.

In good condition, this Sungift 200 is a substantial and multi-purpose scooter with a maximum user weight of up to 18 stone (115kg). The model has a top speed of approx 7 mph and has a full lighting kit including indicators. The Sungift 200 has a range of approx 15 miles before it needs re-charging. The supplied charging lead simply plugs into a mains socket and can easily be charged overnight. The armrests fold, and the seat swivels so that you can get on and off with ease and convenience.

The scooter is second-hand and has been kindly donated to The Stephanie Marks Appeal as it was no longer required. The scooter has no hood and has a few small scuffs but is still in excellent condition. This is a fantastic opportunity to purchase a mobility scooter at a good affordable price.

Link to Ashford and St Peters website   Thank you for helping the Stephanie Marks Diabetes Appeal reach its financial target of raising £1 million. We couldn't have done it without your help. Construction of the Diabetes Resource Centre is now underway and is scheduled to be completed in the Autumn 2009.

Official fundraising for the Appeal has now stopped but donations are still welcome and needed to support patient education and materials. Please send your cheque payable to "The Stephanie Marks Appeal" to Janet Booker, Cashier, St. Peter's Hospital (telephone 01932 722334).

Thank you for your ongoing support
