DIABETES – This is your chance to find out more.
There’s still time to attend!

Sir William Perkins’s School, Chertsey
Saturday, 28th April 9:30am – 4:00pm

If you have diabetes, know someone who has or simply want to find out more, then this year’s ‘Living with Diabetes Day’ organised by The Stephanie Marks Diabetes Appeal and Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust, is for you. The 2007 event, takes place on Saturday 28th April at Sir William Perkins’s School in Chertsey (where Stephanie was a student). The day will deliver a full Programme of talks, demonstrations and exhibitions addressing all aspects of diabetes care.

The impressive line up of speakers is headed by Professor Simon Howell, Chair, Board of Trustees, Diabetes UK. Professor Howell, who is also Research Dean at King’s College London, will speak about “Better Research for Better Health”. Professor Howell considers days like these to be vital. He explains, "Diabetes UK is really pleased to be supporting such a worthwhile cause for people with diabetes throughout Surrey and West Middlesex. Providing high quality services is fundamentally important for diabetes care."

The event is sponsored by pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk and the Royal Bank of Scotland. There will be a number of exhibitors showing a range of diabetes related goods and services often with ‘on the day offers’. These include Bayer Healthcare, Crystal Café, Desang Ltd, Diabetes UK, Diabetes Research & Wellness Foundation, Forever Products, Medtronic, Phoenix Cards, Splenda, Simply Nature and Usborne Books,.

An on-site kids club is available for children aged 5-12, allowing parents, carers and grandparents the opportunity to listen to the talks and visit the exhibitions. Adults £6, Concessions £4, Kids Club £5. A fabulous selection of hot and cold lunches will be available at £3.50 – or attendees may bring their own packed lunch.

It is possible to turn up on the day but pre-booking is highly recommended. Visit www.stephaniemarks.org.uk for further information and download a booking form, or call The Stephanie Marks Appeal on 01932 722330.
