Held at The Thames Club Function Room in Staines, 30 teams of 4 people put forward from local companies and groups such as, Staines Round Table, Surrey Chamber of Commerce; Barclays Bank PLC; HSBC and many others competed against each other in a fun, yet extremely challenging evening!!! The money was raised through ticket sales, a raffle and very generous donations from quiz team members.

Tim Dunn, Partner Menzies Bolton Colby explains why they were delighted to assist the Appeal. “We always select a local charity and we did support the Stephanie Marks Diabetes Appeal once before when it was first launched. It’s a particularly worthwhile local cause which will give people with diabetes living in Surrey and West Middlesex faster access to treatment and information to help them manage their condition more effectively. So many people are now affected by diabetes that we are pleased to make people aware of the Appeal’s good work and do what we can to help.”
“Each year the quiz becomes more and more popular, but this year we were overwhelmed by the response we got and we’d like to thank everyone that came and supported the evening,” added Tim.
Receiving the cheque on behalf of The Stephanie Marks Appeal, Fundraising Manger, Val Marks (who is no relation to Stephanie) commented, “I believe this is the most money the quiz has ever raised and it is a reflection of the excellent planning and attention to detail that made the event such a success. I would like to thank everyone at Menzies Bolton Colby for their on going support.” If you would like to find out more about the Appeal, please visit www.stephaniemarks.org.uk or contact the fundraising team on 01932 722330.
