Featuring School Groups and Solos. A performance of Purcell's opera Dido and Aeneas was performed with the Laudamus Chamber Choir & SWPS choirs and Chamber Orchestra. A fabulous £525 was raised on the night.

Our third annual Living with Diabetes Day has been described as a 'Day of Information and Inspiration'. Aimed at patients, carers and their families, the event has been well attended and universally applauded. This was an opportunity to listen to the experts, chat with others in similar situations, visit exhibitions offering a wide selection of products, services and advice and have your questions answered. £7,000 was raised. The event will run again next year on Saturday 25th April.

Weybridge Male Voice Choir We were privileged to have the well renowned Weybridge Male Voice Choir which enjoys a national & international reputation. They performed a varied programme of popular opera choruses, traditional songs, ballads and choral arrangements of songs from popular musical shows, all performed in the spine-tingling four-part harmony unique to traditional male voice choral singing. A truly wonderful evening and our thanks also to Cleves School for hosting this event.

'Cash for Questions' with Max Clifford On 13 March 1986 The Sun carried as its main headline: FREDDIE STARR ATE MY HAMSTER. Was that true?? This was one of the many questions asked of Max Clifford as he spilt the beans at his "Cash for Questions" evening in aid of the Stephanie Marks Diabetes Appeal. In a closed room, guests enjoyed a fun night of scandal and gossip raising £4,000 clear for the Appeal. At Foxhills on Wednesday, 14th November this unique, black tie event celebrated the first United Nations observed World Diabetes Day this year's campaign being Diabetes in Children and Adolescents

Weekenders Autumn/Winter Clothing Presentation A small group of guests received advice from Tricia, an experienced stylist, on how to co-ordinate their wardrobe and simplify their life!! They then had the opportunity to try on a stylish range of mix and match machine washable, easy iron (or non-iron) garments.

Summer Ball Organised by a dedicated group of Junior Doctors in only 9 weeks at the prestigious Wentworth Golf Club the Summer Ball was an overwhelming success. All tickets were sold allowing 250 guests to enjoy a wonderful evening with delicious food, dance to The Mary's Band and N-Krypted disco till 1.30 am and raise an impressive £4,000!

British 10k Now in its 7th year, the British 10k is a key event in the London sporting calendar. This is the 3rd year the Appeal has taken part having secured 24 places. To date over £2,000 has been raised but sponsorship money is still being collected. Thank you to all our runners.

National Diabetes Testing Day - Elmsleigh Centre In aid of National Diabetes Day, 120 shoppers were tested in the Elmsleigh Shopping Centre Staines. Blood glucose levels were checked by a simply and painless prick to the finger. The event will be held every six months. Sponsored by Bayer HealthCare.

Ian Botham Charity Walk Ian Botham, Patron of the Appeal dusted off his walking boots to raise funds for two cancer charities Leukaemia Research and Teenage Cancer Trust. He was joined on his Southampton leg by Chief Pharmacist Jeremy Tozer who has raised £470 to date.

Annual Living with Diabetes Day 150 attendees enjoyed a day of "information and inspiration" hosted at Sir William Perkins's School, Chertsey. Guest speakers included Becky Botham, Richard Lane and Katrina Scott. Whilst the primary aim of the day was to raise awareness of diabetes and educate people with the condition, their families, friends and carers, the day also raised around £7,000

Link to Ashford and St Peters website   Thank you for helping the Stephanie Marks Diabetes Appeal reach its financial target of raising £1 million. We couldn't have done it without your help. Construction of the Diabetes Resource Centre is now underway and is scheduled to be completed in the Autumn 2009.
